About the First Nations Records and Information Management (RIM) Symposium
For the second year, a coalition of First Nations organizations, First Nations communities and records management professionals have come together in organizing an event aimed to build information management capacity in First Nations communities in BC & The Yukon.
The agenda has been informed by a survey of First Nation’s needs. Highlights include:
Records Management Bootcamp
Shared Drive Restructure
Archives and Preservation
Planning for an Electronic Records & Document Management system
Developing Classifications Schemes in First Nations
Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Programs.
The focus is on practical knowledge and skills that participants will be able to bring home and utilize. In addition, participants will be asked for suggestions for future work that will further support First Nations in Information Management.
